Langtang Valley Trekking

Day 01: Nepal Gateway Trekking representative will  receive you with warm greetings at the airport or elsewhere within Kathmandu. Then you are taken to the hotel we’d have booked for you. The seven day program will be described briefly at the hotel. You will rest at the hotel for the night.

Day 02: We leave for a small village in Rasuwa district called Syabrubesi (1610m) from Kathmandu on a public vehicle. With the landscape changing at every meter ahead, we follow the road through Trisuli market on the bank of roaring Trisuli river and Dhunche (2030m), the central headquarter of Rasuwa District. This will be an 8-hour journey. Our accommodation will be managed in a hotel at Syabrubesi.

Day 03: This day, our trip will be destined to Lama Hotel (2480m), also called Changthang. Crossing the Bhote Koshi after we leave Syabrubesi, our trail goes along the Langtang Khola and further passes through the places called Bamboo and Ramche. This will be a total of 6 hours’ trekking during which you will ascend significantly. We reach Lama Hotel where a fine guest house will be waiting to serve us.

Day 04: On this day, we will ascend around another 1000 meters through the steep trail to reach Langtang village (3541m). This will be rather difficult journey to progress, but the approaching valley and Langtang environment will completely occupy and lessen your tiredness. Our trail takes us through Ghoda-Tabela, small and scattered settlements and finally to a wide valley. Meadows, yak pasture land, small bridges and traditional water mills on the way make the journey fascinating. As we approach the village, we start to feel the richness of the national park and Langtang settlement. This will be a mesmerizing 5-hour journey. We will be staying at a guesthouse for the night.

Day 05: On this day, we will trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3910m) which will take us almost 4 hours. The trail will be accompanied by interesting traditional settlements like Muna and Singdun. We reach a small monastery there which is one of the most visited sites by the Buddhist pilgrims and other tourists. View of mountains in Langtang Region can be captured from this place. This will be a great experience to explore the high mountains from such a close distance. Our overnight stop will be at a Guest House.

Day 06: We use this day to explore every possible aspect in the valley. As the first event, we go on a hike to Chorkari Ri (5053m). This will be the ultimate altitude of the trip. You will get a blessed feeling after being able to reach to the land of mountains, and at the same time, a sense of pride. This will be a total of  6 hours’ exploration after which we find ourselves back to Kyangin Gompa at our Guest House.

Day 07: On this day, we make our way back to Lama Hotel (2480m) following the same trail we used to climb up. This will be a comfortable 5.5 hours walk. Our overnight stop will be at Guest House.

Day 08: Descending further, we trek to Syabrubesi (1610m) which will take us around 5 hours. Recalling and recapping the journey, we will have enough time to capture the scenes we might have missed before. Accommodation arrangement will be at a Guest House.

Day 09: The trekking ends here. We will be using the transportation service available and travel back to Kathmandu from Syabrubesi. You will be transferred to the hotel where you will be staying that night.

Day 10: This will be the final day of our service. Our staff will drop you to the airport or your destination for your next destination. With the hope to see you again, we pray for your safe and happy journey.

- 2 night accommodation at a 4 Star hotel in Kathmandu with Bed and Breakfast plan.
- All land transportation expenses as mentioned in the package.
- Breakfast, lunch and dinner with all accommodation charges during the trekking.
- Cost of a highly experience well trained and licensed trekking guide, Sherpa and required number of porters (1 porter between 2 people). All Trekking in Nepal team will be responsible for their meals, accommodations, salaries, insurances and equipment during the trip.

- Meals in Kathmandu apart from breakfast.

- International flight tickets to and from Kathmandu.
- Nepal entry visa fee, which is easily issued upon your arrival at Tribhuwan international airport at Kathmandu.
- Your personal first aid kit, equipment and items of personal nature.
- All kind of drinks (Water/Coke/alcoholic beverage and hot drinks) and hot shower during the trek.

Q. When do i visit Nepal?
Ans - Nepal is governed by the Southerly Monsoon weather system which brings heavy precipitation between the months of June and September, i.e. it rains a lot. Spring (March-May) and Autumn (September-November) are the best time to visit Nepal.
   
Q. Can i do a trekking in Nepal?
Ans - Previous trekking and mountaineering experience is not necessary to do a trekking in nepal. If you are reasonably fit and enjoy walking, you can do any trek in Nepal. Normally the shorter treks tend to be easier whilst the longer ones often require a better standard of fitness.
  
Q. Where do i stay and sleep during the trekking?
Ans - You stay either guest house or tent during the trekking. The most popular trekking areas like Annapurna, Everest and Langtang provide best sleeping accommodation. You stay and sleep in tent during the trekking, if you go restricted areas like Dolpo, Upper Mustang, Manaslu etc.
   
Q. Are the foods and water safe to eat and drink during the trekking?
Ans - Yes, the foods are eatable and water is safe to drink during the trekking. All meals are prepared to high standards, fruit and vegetables are soaked in iodine before preparation. Most lodges serve boiled and filtered water, which is generally safe to drink, we suggest a drop of iodine to be totally sure.
  
Q. What is Altitude Sickness?
Ans - Altitude Sickness is also known as Acute Mountain Sickness (A.M.S.). It may occur when people ascend too quickly. The symptoms of AMS can be seen in our body after 2800m. Headache, shortness of breath and possibly light headed are fairly common. Acute mountain sickness is very different and normally involves a severe headache, sickness and loss of awareness. Descending to a lower altitude will generally be enough to prevent any further problems. HAPE (High Altitude Pulmonary Edema) and HACE (High Altitude Cardio Edema) are the major symptoms of altitude sickness.

With a group of six friends, three porters, Ram and Jhamka we did the Langtang Gosaikunda trekking. In Kathmandu we first met Jhamka and from the first moment we had a real good feeling about the organisation of our trekking. In the mountains we had a fantastic time talking, singing, playing football, and visiting interesting places and off course enjoying the brilliant view everywhere. The highest peak we reached was over 5000 meters high and being on the top gave a great feeling. We are grateful to Jhamka and Ram for the great time we had during our trekking. The memory of having chicken and beers with the entire group and singing Nepalese songs all night will never be forgotten! It was an amazing trip and we would reccomend anyone who wants to do a trekking in Nepal to go with Jhamka and Ram!
