Day 01 : As soon as you arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu you’ll be transferred to one of the comfortable hotels in the city. We have planned a complete rest for today as you might be tired from the long journey. So without much excursion you’ll be resting in the hotel.
Day 02: Today without delay we’ll be managing all the necessities for your upcoming tour to Tibet. We’ll have pre-departure meeting with all our team members and we’ll be proceeding to the Tibet visa process. Overnight you’ll be staying at the Hotel.
Day 03: Formally, this is the first day of our tour and we are going to visit the famous city of Tibet i.e. Lhasa - "Land of Gods". We’ll fly from Kathmandu to Gongkar Airport where you will be warmly welcomed by our Tibetan guide. He’ll be guiding you throughout the journey helping you get the most from the tour. After the proper interaction with the guide we would drive for an hour to Lhasa (one of the highest cities in the world). For the remainder of the day, we can roam around the city or if tired we may have a good rest at one of the hotels in Lhasa.
Day 04: Lhasa, being a very popular and important site, we have allocated two days for sightseeing in the city. First day we’ll be visiting the famous Norbulingka, which being the largest garden of the country is considered “Treasure Park” of Tibet. Likewise, we’ll visit Sera Monastery, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Market. All of them have their own importance and significance in Tibetan society. This takes about 6 -7 hours in total. After the sightseeing, we may return back to the Hotel.
Day 05: This is the second day of our excursion in Lhasa. Today we‘ll get the chance to visit the highest ancient palace in the world, Potala Palace, reaching 3,767m (12,359ft) at the topmost point. Then we’ll be moving on to Drepung Monastery, one of the "great three" Gelukpa university monasteries of Tibet. These two are the models of Tibetan architecture referring the cultural and traditional values of Tibetan society. Today also, the visit will not exceed more than 6-7 hours. For the rest of the day you can spend roaming around or you may return to the Hotel to take rest.
Day 06: Today we’ll be heading on to Gyantse. The journey from Lhasa to Gyantse( 3,950m) is of 260 km that takes around six hours. This drive to Tibetan town of Gyantse is made through the Southern Friendship Highway which will be enjoyed through the beautiful views of Yamdrok-Tso lake, mountain Nazin Kang Sa(7252 m) and Karo-la(5045 m) where we can enjoy stunning views of huge glaciers. Then we’ll be spending the night at Hotel.
Day 07: At the very morning we’ll have our breakfast at the hotel and continue our journey. We will first visit the Pelkor Chode Monastery and Kumbum Stupa and then drive to Shigatse, the second largest city of Tibet. Three hours' drive of length 90 km will take us from Gyantse to Shigatse (3900m). We may also explore the city in case we have sufficient time and interest. Otherwise we’ll find a hotel to spend the night.
Day 08: Shigatse to Segar (4,050m) measures 250 km which takes 6-7 hours by drive. Segar is also known as New Tingri which is a base from where expeditions to Mt. Everest and other peaks are launched. While travelling through the plains we’ll see many nomadic herders, beautiful monasteries and quiet countrysides. After we reach Segar we’ll find a suitable hotel for accommodation.
Day 09: 91 km drive from Segar to Rongbuk Monastery (4,980m) will take about 3-4 hours. After driving 6 km from Segar, we will leave the Friendship Highway and head out towards Everest Base Camp. We’ll drive over Pang La (5,120m) and enjoy the spectacular views of Mount Everest, Cho Oyu, and Makalu. After spending so much time in long drives, here we’ll feel better with the view of beautiful natural sites. We are staying overnight at a hotel.
Day 10: In vehicle it takes about 7 hours from Rongbuk Monastery to Zhangmu, the total distance being 246 km. Zhangmu perches on a mountainside 10km (6 miles) inland from the Friendship Bridge across the Bhote Koshi River. The small town has become the major trading post between Tibet and Nepal. Tonight we’ll be staying at a hotel in Zhangmu.
Day 11: This will be our last day in Tibet as we will be moving towards Kathmandu. After crossing the Friendship Bridge that connects the two countries, the Araniko Highway will take us from Zhangmu to Kathmandu. Overnight we will stay in a hotel at Kathmandu
Day 12: We have a leisure day in Kathmandu. On this day you can develop the photos taken along the journey, buy some stuffs for you and your relatives or just roam around the city. This will be the last day in Nepal unless you want to visit some other places or have some other exciting tours.
Day 13: You’ll be transferred to Tribhuwan International Airport for onward destination. We’ll be sharing best wishes and goodbyes. |
